Growing up in London

Commissioned by the V&A Museum of Childhood in 2011-2012 for their Playing In or Out? project, I worked together with school staff and local communities looking at cross generational patterns of play in East London through photographs, interviews and video. On the back of this experience I documented photography workshops for children with disabilities run by Discover Children’s Story Centre in Stratford, Olympic Games celebration activities at Rushmore Primary School, Hackney Hurricanes Disability Athletics Club featured in the August 2012 issue of Hackney Citizen (a winner in 2012 ESRC’s Portraits of Britain competition in the Public Services category), family events and occasions.

In January 2013 I developed and managed a participatory project in rural Nigeria to train school children in photography and build up upon the work I have done with young people around the subject of games. The exhibition of their work has toured in both the UK and Nigeria.
